Regional Director, North and West Africa | Intelsat
Mr. Lare Atcha-Oubou’s responsibilities as Regional Director include the development of new business and continued growth of a customer base in Africa, and the implementation of the Intelsat regional branch for West Africa.
Since joining Intelsat, Mr. Atcha-Oubou has held a variety of leadership roles in the African region. As Managing Sales Director his key responsibilities included supervision of Sales Directors, and oversight of Sales and Marketing activities for Network Services, Media, and Internet services. As Regional Sales Director, he contributed to the development and implementation of the first Direct-to-Home TV community over Southern Africa.
Mr. Atcha-Oubou has been instrumental in promoting Internet service using satellite capacity and has managed to connect most of African telecommunication service providers to various United States Internet backbones.
Prior to joining Intelsat, Mr. Atcha-Oubou occupied various management positions within Togo Telecom, including the role of Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of International Network.
Lare Atcha-Oubou represented Africa Group II at the Intelsat Board of Governors Technical Committee; was a member of the National Expert Committee for Regional African Satellite Communications Project; and a member of Expert Committee for West African Submarine Cable feasibility studies.
Lare Atcha-Oubou holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University, Maryland USA and a Master’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the Institute of Telecommunications, Saint-Petersburg.
